The Budding Archaeologist Part 2
If you have not read part one, you will have to read that first to understand this!!!π( part one:- The Budding Archaeologist)
It was a bright sunny day; Mia was enjoying her summer
holidays and decided to visit the old building which she had explored in her
last summer vacations. πWhen she reached there she was greeted in delight by Mr. Davis
and Kevin as well. Mr. Davis gave Mia the biggest news of her life he said, “Hey Mia, I have some great news for you, as you had made a great discovery, the Archaeology Department has decided to award you!!” Mia was very excited and thrilled and as she was walking
home, she bumped into her grandmother! She was surprised but happy to meet her.
They both chatted about everything they had missed on since they last met.
Mia made the announcement about the award to
her family after dinner. They were all very proud of
Mia.
The next morning, Mia was taking a stroll in her favorite park when she saw a new trail, which went out of the park. Obviously Mia’s curious mind wanted to follow the trail, but this time decided to inform her parents before and also grabbed supplies and put them in her favorite adventure bag.

She reached back home and told her parents and grandmother about not being able to explore anything. Her father suggested that Mia's friends should go along to give her company and all of them can have an eventful day. She loved the plan, and rang four of her friends Kevin, Kelly, Elena and Tom.
Early next morning, the five of them started their journey, they reached the spot where Mia had stopped last evening. They took a short break and continued on. After almost thirty five minutes, they reached a bifurcation. They took a vote and they took the right path. This path was a little scary as it only had heavy bushes on all sides and the large trees were making it darker. After a few more minutes of walking and chatting, they finally reached the end of the trail. They looked around and suddenly Kevin tumbled onto something hidden under the bushes. They all started to remove the bushes with the tools they carried and found three huge grey blocks. Mia and Kevin had brought 2 brushes each, Mia, Kevin, Kelly and Elena grabbed a brush and started removing the dirt, meanwhile Tom was trying to explore around and find a shortcut from here to their neighborhood. He managed to see a paved way hidden by creepers, and he took out his scissors and cut out few branches of the bushes which were blocking the way .
While Tom was cutting the branches, the four other friends, discovered those large blocks were Old Statues. There was something engraved on the statues which they could not read. It was already lunch time, so they sat down and ate their packed sandwiches. While they walked back home using the shortcut, they talked about the statues without taking a breath. When they got out they realized that this came out near the building Mia had discovered, they wondered if the statutes were related to the building, but it was already getting late, so they decided to meet the next morning and continue. π
When Mia reached home, she told her parents and grandmother about their discovery, they were awe-struck! They advised Mia to ring Kevin and bring his dad as well tomorrow. She agreed and called her friend after supper.
The next day, Mia and her four friends and Mr. Davis met at the building , Mr Davis also announced that her Award would be given after three weeks. Mia was very excited, but then remembered the reason why they were here. The six of them reached the statues in ten minutes, and Mr. Davis was shocked to see what the young kids had discovered. He said " These statues are of the people who built the building, they have a secret code which opens a secret door in the building !" The kids were shocked to hear this, that instant Mr. Davis called his team to clear up the statues and find the clue code!
In the next twenty minutes his team arrived and whispered the code to the astonished group. They all rushed inside the building and put the code into the lock, and opened the DOOR!! No one could believe their eyes . The room was full of ancient treasures, there were Coins, Paintings and Ancient Silver Mirrors and Cutlery. Mr. Davis informed the kids that all of this would be worth of Millions of dollars in the olden ages! The kids asked him if they could take a piece for show case, but to their disappointment he could not allow them. π
The next day Mr. Davis and Kevin visited Mia and her family, Mr. Davis informed her family, that she would getting two awards now for her two fabulous discoveries. Her parents thanked Mr. Davis, and the father and son left soon after. Mia's grandmother extended her stay so she could watch Mia get the two awards.
Few weeks later, Mia reached the building to get awarded. There was a huge crowd there to watch the First Young Archaeologist get awarded.ππ She was no more A Budding Archaeologist!! Her Friends and family were very Proud of her!
